Courageous Compassion and Kingdom Leadership

July 24, 2023

Compassion literally means to suffer with another. It takes courage. This is exactly what the Savior did for us. And that is one reason why we love Him so much. Note how often the scriptures say that Jesus was “moved with compassion.”

Is It Really Just Business?

Oh, “it’s just business” in the name of  business is about profit at the sacrifice of the ethical, moral, and spiritual accountability and responsibility of doing business God’s way.

Being A Glory Carrier

September 11, 2023

As representatives of His glory, we must not be complacent, lazy, or unproductive in our workplaces. People constantly observe us, even when unaware of it, including the decisions we make and how we approach them. Therefore, we must strive for excellence and diligence, utilizing the gifts, talents, and abilities bestowed upon us.

The influence of Kingdom Culture in the workplace holds immense significance. Cultivating a Kingdom Culture will enhance the workplace and bring glory to God through our diligent work.

Leading with Purpose and Vision - Part 1

October 2, 2023

In the pursuit of success and material gain, it can be all too easy to lose sight of our purpose as Kingdom leaders. It is crucial to remember that our calling extends far beyond professional achievements. Our true mission is to bring about transformation and positively impact the lives of those around us.

Proverbs 29:18 reminds us that "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Without a clear vision, people are left without a higher standard to guide them, relying solely on their own feelings and opinions. This lack of vision ultimately leads to failure, both for individuals and enterprises alike.

Leading with Purpose and Vision - Part 2

October 9, 2023

Occasionally, we can lose sight of the higher purpose and the values that truly matter. As Kingdom Leaders, we are responsible for aligning our business goals with the Kingdom Vision, which is based on the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Jeremiah 29:11).

God's Kingdom is not restricted to a church or a spiritual realm. It encompasses all aspects of our existence, including our careers. As leaders of the Kingdom, our ultimate aim should be to bring glory to God through our work (Ephesians 2:10), to honor Him in all that we do (Colossians 3:17), and to serve others without seeking our own advantage (Mark 10:45).

Leading with Purpose and Vision - Part 3

October 15, 2023

As leaders, we are responsible for achieving financial goals, driving growth, and cultivating an environment that fosters inspiration and motivation. By empowering our teams to unlock their fullest potential, we create a culture that thrives on recognition, personal and professional growth, and a shared sense of purpose. By connecting with our team members personally, we make them feel valued, motivated, and inspired to achieve individual and collective goals in the workplace.

Kingdom Influence

October 30, 2023

Influence possesses the power to shape both positively and negatively. Therefore, we must remain mindful of the impact our words and actions can have on others. As individuals, we bear the responsibility of utilizing our influence for the greater good, whether it be within our relationships or the broader scope of society.

The potency of influence cannot be underestimated, as it holds the potential to impact not only our own lives but also the lives of those around us. King Solomon, renowned for his wisdom, eloquently stated, "He who walks with wise men will be wise" (Proverbs 12:20a). This quote beautifully encapsulates the essence of influence. When we surround ourselves with individuals of wisdom, their sagacity seeps into our very being, shaping us into individuals of discernment and insight. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we purposefully cultivate the type of influence we exert upon those in our world.

Cultivating Faith in the Marketplace

November 13, 2023

As Kingdom Leaders, our divine calling is to embody faith, hope, and love. Our purpose in the business realm transcends mere profit-making; it is about positively impacting those around us. Let us delve into the profound significance of fostering faith in our workplaces and how faith can bring about transformative change.

Faith serves as the bedrock upon which our leadership is built. It is an unwavering belief in the Almighty, who is infinitely greater than us and has given us a higher purpose. Guided by our faith, we yield to His divine guidance in our actions and decisions. As Kingdom Leaders, our faith should be firmly rooted in our relationship with God, understanding that He has entrusted us with the sacred responsibility of being His representatives in the workplace (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Caregiving Love in the Workplace

November 20, 2023

Unfortunately, our perception of love is often influenced by popular songs, movies, and books. These mediums depict love as a combination of attraction, emotion, romance, and sentiment, shaping our expectations. However, it's important to note that when Jesus instructed His disciples to love, He had a different meaning in mind. He presented them with the ultimate example of self-sacrificing love, one that goes beyond what is portrayed in popular culture. This love transcends societal norms and serves as a true expression of devotion and compassion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Staying in Faith in the Workplace

November 27, 2023

One of the greatest challenges we face daily is maintaining the motivation and strength to fulfill our leadership assignments in the workplace. Often, we can feel overwhelmed or drained by workplace demands. In those moments, it's easy to lose sight of the purpose behind our work and become discouraged.

However, finding encouragement can reignite our trust in God, giving us the strength and motivation to persevere. The timeless words of Isaiah 40:31 serve as a powerful reminder that those who trust the Lord will "renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint."

What are You Hoping for in Your Workplace?

December 4, 2023

Our hope for our workplaces requires us to wait on God with joy and confidence. This is where faith takes center stage. Even though we can't see it yet, faith assures us that we already possess what we hope for. We can anticipate the fulfillment of our workplace hope through faith.

Regardless of your workplace, always remember that God has entrusted you with a divine purpose - to bring Him glory in that very place. The chaos and commotion around you hold little significance. What truly matters is the hope that God has planted within you for your workplace. Embrace it wholeheartedly and firmly believe that God can bring your heart's desires to fruition.

Biblical Pre-Suppositions As A Kingdom Leader

December 10 2023

I highly value the wisdom of fellow believers who adhere to the teachings of the Bible. Proverbs 15:22 aptly reminds us, "Without counsel, plans fail, but with many advisers, they succeed." This verse serves as a constant reminder to actively seek wise and godly guidance in every aspect of leadership and life.

Reality reflects the creative work of our Maker. As a Triune and Communicative God, every aspect of reality carries His expression. This understanding compels me to place emphasis on the Kingdom dimensions of leadership while considering their social and cultural implications.

With that being said, I summarize six fundamental biblical beliefs that guide me as a leader in the Kingdom of God.

The Power of Words

December 18 2023

The words spoken by leaders in the Kingdom are not mere utterances; they are seeds that are planted in the hearts and minds of their colleagues (Matthew 13:8). Leaders who purposefully, genuinely, and empathetically use the power of words create an enduring Kingdom-like atmosphere (Proverbs 21:5; Ephesians 5:15-16). As the architects of narratives, we must acknowledge the transformative potential of every word and accept the responsibility to lead with language that uplifts, unifies, and empowers (Colossians 4:6).

Moreover, as Christian leaders in the workplace, we must remember that our actions and words hold weight and can significantly impact those around us. We are called to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13-16), bringing hope and grace into our workplaces through our faith.

Becoming All Things to Win Some

January 8, 2024

As we stand at the threshold of the new year, 2024, we find ourselves with a fresh opportunity as leaders in the marketplace, representing the Kingdom. This is our chance to outline our conduct as Kingdom leaders in our workplaces, aiming to advance the Kingdom of God among those around us.

One way to achieve this is by harmonizing new beginnings with the wisdom of 1 Corinthians 9:22. therefore, let us seize this moment, embracing our role as ambassadors of the Kingdom, and strive to connect with diverse individuals, fostering an environment where we can effectively share the message of Christ's love.

We Harvest What We Plant

January 15, 2024

Your connection with Christ is a wellspring of renewal and solace (Matthew 11:29). It brings a profound sense of peace and fulfillment that only humility can bestow. He comprehends and accompanies you on your journey. He will guide and counsel you through it (Psalm 32:8). Only Jesus can grant you an unparalleled rest that no one else can offer. It is a lasting and unwavering rest.

As a leader in His Kingdom, your future is brimming with hope and promise. Remember the assurance from Philippians 1:6. Keep your focus steadfastly on Jesus, and He will establish your plans and ensure your success according to His measure of triumph.

Your Workplace Emmaus Road Experience

January 22, 2024

As leaders in our workplaces, we are well-acquainted with the daily grind: the insipid coffee in the office lounge, the monotonous hum of fluorescent lights, and the occasional feeling that joy and purpose have gone missing. If we're not cautious, we can easily succumb to the dull work routine, becoming mere cogs in the machine rather than catalysts for change, possibility, and excitement.

But what if our workplace could be like an Emmaus Road experience (Luke, chapter 4)? What if it became a journey of exploration, brimming with unexpected encounters with Jesus and the people we collaborate with? And what if these encounters could ignite our hearts with boundless possibilities for ourselves, our teams, and our workplace? What if it transformed into a hub of collaboration, creativity, and growth? A place where each day is teeming with fresh challenges, opportunities for learning, and meaningful connections.

Spiritual Warfare and the Workplace

January 29, 2024

God's Kingdom men and women face spiritual challenges that are rooted in our identity in Christ, regardless of our roles or positions in the workplace. Just as Jesus was rejected by the mainstream Jewish culture of His time, His disciples also encountered frequent rejection.

The workplace, then, becomes a fierce battleground where we navigate these spiritual challenges, drawing strength from our unwavering faith and relying on the abundant grace of our Savior. It is in these very moments that we have the extraordinary opportunity to display the indomitable power and unwavering truth of the Kingdom that resides within us.

God's Standards Exercised in the Workplace

February 5, 2024

In our workplaces, as Kingdom leaders, we have the incredible opportunity to demonstrate Kingdom standards that contrast worldly norms. Let us never forget that we are ambassadors of Christ, entrusted with representing Him with excellence. Our calling is to radiate the love of our Savior through every word we speak, every action we take, and every interaction we have with our colleagues.

This divine mission requires us to hold steadfast to His standards, even when they diverge from the norms of the world around us. Like gates that serve as entrances, our workplaces become channels through which God can work in and through us. Let us remain vigilant, discerning the enemy's tactics, seeking to infiltrate our midst. By confronting these challenges with the unwavering standards of the Lord, we can prevent the enemy's influence from taking hold.

“Be At Work” Attitudes

February 12, 2024

When Jesus shared the Beatitudes with His disciples in Matthew, chapter 5, He revealed the abundant blessings found in God's graces. These Beatitudes are not prerequisites for salvation or a step-by-step guide to entering the Kingdom of God. Instead, they vividly depict the very essence of God's Kingdom - embracing meekness, extending mercy, hungering for righteousness, fostering peace, and so much more.

As we wholeheartedly embrace the Beatitudes in our daily work, our lives become catalysts for transformation. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we become agents of change, aligning ourselves with God's divine purposes to manifest His will on earth as it is in Heaven. It is both a privilege and a responsibility to represent God's Kingdom and radiate His illuminating light into every corner, dispelling darkness wherever we go.

Kingdom Leaders Die to Self in the Workplace. Why? Because it’s not about us.

February 19, 2024

Amidst a bustling office with rows of cubicles, one individual shines brightly. The dedicated manager leads by example with unwavering commitment and inspires the team to excel. Knowing success demands relentless dedication, he sets high standards, banishing mediocrity from the path to achieving the company’s goals. Every day, he embodies perseverance, believing that his hard work will yield Kingdom in the workplace.

The world lures us towards self-indulgence, urging us to chase our desires above all else. Yet, we are called to be servants of Christ (Ephesians 6:6), redeemed at a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). Our existence is no longer self-centered. We relinquish our will to let Christ dwell within us (Galatians 2:20). We are not the universe's focal point, nor should our actions revolve around ourselves.
